Ministerials Information System

Essential Skills developed and delivered specific training courses for different roles within National Office, along with accompanying quick reference guides. We continue to be contracted to run the courses even though the ministry is now very much in the “business as usual” phase.

 Office 2007 Rollout

Essential Skills developed the training guides and delivered training for this nation-wide project affecting all Ministry of Education Staff. Our approach was to offer both presentations and classroom hands-on training to staff both in Wellington and in the regions.

Where required, the trainer provided floor-walking support after the presentations. Feedback from the Ministry’s Customer Services Centre and that given to the project administrator indicated that the training was very successful and the face-to-face floor-walking approach was welcomed by the staff.


 

Careers New Zealand

Customer Relationship Management (CRM)

Essential Skills developed and delivered training courses along with accompanying quick reference guides. The courses were delivered to all staff across the different regional offices. This was a significant change for many staff members, who were accustomed to paper-based systems.

Office 2010 and Windows 7 upgrade

Essential Skills developed training guides and delivered training for this nation-wide project. We provided a combination of presentations and classroom-based training to staff on the changes to the Office software. While not all staff were upgraded to Windows 7, training was provided to those who did get that upgrade.

We have also run half-day Word and Excel workshops for various groups within the organisation.

Office 2010 and Windows 7 Upgrade

Essential Skills developed training guides, delivered training and produced Word templates for the organisation. Training was a combination of short “What’s New” presentations and hands-on training modules.

We have provided follow-up workshops and short targeted presentations on Office 2010 software at staff meetings.


 

Ministry of Justice

Web Accessability Project

Essential Skills has completed a project with the Ministry of Justice Web Services team to provide documentation, administration and training delivery for the Web Accessibility project. This included:

  • preparing training materials for “Preparing Content for the Web” and “Online Content Formatting” courses
  • scheduling training
  • contacting and booking attendees
  • delivering training courses


 

Tertiary Education Commission

We provided a series of training modules based on Office 2010 for TEC’s administrative staff. Day-long courses in Visio 2010 we included along with courses in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.


 

Education Review Office

Essential Skills tailored and presented a day-long Visio 2013 training session for ERO staff who wanted to benefit from the software’s improved graphics capabilities.
